This role is a key operational and subject matter leadership position within a global payroll organization, responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll execution in complex, multi-country environments. You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes for assigned jurisdictions, with a strong focus on Poland, while contributing to the continuous improvement and scalability of global payroll operations. Working in a fully remote, globally distributed team, you will collaborate closely with Finance, Tax, Product, and Operations stakeholders to ensure payroll integrity and compliance. This role requires both hands-on payroll expertise and the ability to influence process improvements across systems and workflows. You will also contribute to automation initiatives and AI-enabled enhancements that improve efficiency and accuracy. Accountabilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on time in compliance with country-specific regulations, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Manage full payroll cycles including validation of inputs, calculations, reconciliations, and post-payroll activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Polish payroll, staying current on legislative, tax, and compliance updates.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll execution across multiple stakeholders.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies while escalating risks and complex issues when needed.
- Support implementation of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions, ensuring operational readiness.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain and improve payroll documentation, controls, and operational knowledge bases.
- Participate in testing and validation of payroll systems, updates, and workflow changes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in payroll operations, preferably in mid-to-senior roles.
- Hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll in Poland, including statutory compliance and reporting.
- Experience working in multi-country or global payroll environments.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax frameworks, reconciliations, and payroll controls.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and tools, including R2Płatnik (Symfonia) or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and external stakeholders in a remote, distributed environment.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving operational environments with a focus on ownership and accountability.
- Experience with automation tools or AI-enabled workflows is highly valued.
