Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist II is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role serves as a key resource for payroll-related inquiries, maintains employee payroll records, and partners closely with HR and business leaders to deliver exceptional employee service.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across multiple states.
  • Review and validate payroll data, earnings, deductions, taxes, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform payroll audits and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies prior to payroll finalization.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including tax elections, garnishments, and direct deposit information.
  • Process payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, and deductions.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Partner with HR to ensure employee information is accurate and payroll changes are processed promptly.
  • Support compliance with payroll regulations, recordkeeping requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage garnishments, tax notices, and payroll documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.
  • Support additional payroll-related projects and departmental priorities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
