Job Description

MezTal is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a U.S.-based client with multiple locations. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, auditing timekeeping information, and providing support to employees and managers regarding payroll-related inquiries.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience processing U.S. payroll, strong knowledge of payroll practices and wage and hour regulations, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for multiple U.S. locations.
• Ensure payroll transactions are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Process payroll transactions related to new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, transfers, bonuses, and deductions.
• Maintain employee payroll records, tax forms, direct deposit authorizations, and related documentation.
• Support payroll corrections, off-cycle payments, retroactive adjustments, and final paychecks.
• Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding pay, taxes, deductions, and timekeeping issues.
• Assist with garnishments, benefit deductions, retirement contributions, and other payroll withholdings.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local U.S. wage and hour regulations.
• Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
• Generate payroll reports for management and accounting teams.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
• Assist with payroll audits and special projects as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience processing U.S. payroll (required).
• Experience processing payroll for multiple locations and/or multiple states.
• Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Experience supporting U.S.-based operations.
• Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) is highly preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, senior living, or service-based industries is a plus.
• Advanced English proficiency is required, as the role involves daily interaction with U.S.-based manager and stakeholders.
• Open to work on a Hybrid Scheme at Colonia Providencia in Guadalajara, Jalisco
