We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with Arabic and English based in Cornellá (Barcelona) for a permanent contract.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate payroll processing and administrative support for multiple countries. This role includes processing salary data, payroll-related expenses and timesheets, maintaining employee payroll records, managing compensation and employee status updates, and responding to payroll-related inquiries.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of social security, taxation, statutory payments, and payroll-related legislation. In addition, this role provides effective and efficient administrative support to the local HR function, guaranteeing adherence, accuracy, and a high level of service to internal team members.

As a Payroll Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Process payroll accurately and on time for the countries assigned, including salaries, expenses, and timesheets

  • Respond to questions concerning payroll from employees, HR, and other collaborators

  • Remit payroll-related payments to tax authorities, social insurance bodies, and benefits providers; prepare and submit required regulatory forms

  • Maintain and update employee payroll and benefits records, including pay and personnel changes

  • Collaborate closely with Payroll Specialists and external payroll providers to guarantee adherence and smooth payroll operations

  • Stay up to date on payroll practices, statutory requirements, and regulations for assigned countries

  • Support internal controls, including documentation, developing, and testing activities

  • Prepare ad hoc payroll reports and support payroll data analysis as the need arises

  • Document payroll procedures, operating guidelines, and any manual work practices outside the system

  • Actively contribute to payroll process improvements and guideline development

  • Build working relationships with external providers and Country HR Managers to ensure timely and accurate information flow

  • Process payment requests and support of additional payroll-related projects and tasks as needed

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in Arabic as spoken in the Middle East and in English; additional languages are a plus

  • Open-minded, flexible, and willing to learn, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a cross-functional environment

  • Proven customer service attitude with a proactive and practical approach

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong time-management skills with attention to detail

  • Solid PC literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment

  • Considerable discretion and a proven dedication to maintaining confidentiality

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • 1–3 years of proven experience in a payroll or HR environment

  • Experience working with SAP HR/Payroll, Workday, and/or ADP

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
