About AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care

AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care, the nationwide franchise automotive brand with 65 years expertise and 500+ franchise stores in the US offering excellent compensation, insured benefits, PTO, and 401(k) plan with company matching funds is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work at their corporate office in Horsham, PA. This is a hybrid position requiring 3-days in office attendance and 2-days remote work.

The first four (4) weeks will be 5 days per week working in the corporate office.

Position Summary

AAMCO Transmissions and Total Car Care is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate team in Horsham, PA. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with confidential information, has strong attention to detail, and can manage payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely for employees across the organization.
  • Review and verify payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure payroll information is up to date.
  • Process new hires, terminations, employee status changes, direct deposit changes, and other payroll-related updates.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and processing of federal, state, and local taxes and other required payroll deductions.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Assist with payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end reporting, including W-2s.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist management with payroll-related reporting and analysis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information.
  • Assist with audits and provide payroll documentation as requested.
  • Stay current on changes to payroll regulations, tax requirements, and best practices.
  • Perform other payroll and accounting-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, deductions, and tax regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in a multi-state payroll environment is a plus.
  • Experience in the automotive, franchise, or multi-location environment is a plus.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
