Responsible for administering and maintaining the company's compensation and benefits programs, including compensation structure maintenance, payroll processing, and benefits administration. Ensures payroll and benefits are delivered accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Payroll Processing & Administration
    1. Calculate, review, and process employee payroll accurately and on schedule.
    2. Calculate all payroll components, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, commissions, allowances, and other earnings.
    3. Ensure payroll calculations are accurate and comply with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  2. Timekeeping & Payroll Data Management
    1. Collect, review, and validate employee timekeeping records, including attendance, overtime, leave, and other payroll-related data.
    2. Maintain and reconcile payroll data within the HRIS to ensure accurate payroll processing.
    3. Maintain complete and accurate employee payroll records and documentation.
  3. Tax & Benefits Administration
    1. Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)), and other company-sponsored benefits.
    2. Ensure proper payroll tax withholding and reporting, including pre-tax and taxable deductions, in compliance with applicable regulations.
    3. Calculate the payroll impact of paid time off (PTO), unpaid leave, and other leave programs.
  4. Employee Support & Payroll Inquiries
    1. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, deductions, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
    2. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, adjustments, and payment issues.
    3. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Other Duties
    1. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to support payroll, benefits, audits, and related projects.
    2. Assist with payroll audits, reporting, compliance activities, and continuous process improvements.
    3. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  1. Education
    1. Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience
    1. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or a related compensation role. Retail industry experience is preferred.
  3. Knowledge & Technical Skills
    1. Proficient in payroll processing, payroll reconciliation, and payroll reporting.
    2. Knowledge of employee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)), and payroll deductions.
    3. Understanding of payroll tax regulations, including pre-tax and taxable deductions, and applicable federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements.
    4. Familiarity with timekeeping systems, HRIS/payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel.
    5. Basic understanding of retail payroll practices and labor cost management.
  4. Competencies
    1. Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
    2. Excellent execution and organizational skills with the ability to meet payroll deadlines.
    3. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    4. Effective communication and customer service skills when supporting employees and internal stakeholders.
    5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information with discretion.
    6. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.

Pay and Compensation

  • $28 Per Hour + Quarterly Performance Bonus
