About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced, high-caliber Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of Claroty’s payroll operations and core financial processes in Israel. In this pivotal role, you will not only manage the end-to-end payroll and bookkeeping lifecycle for our growing team in Israel, but also act as a strategic focal point—optimizing processes, ensuring flawless compliance, and partnering closely with internal teams. If you are a proactive finance professional who combines deep technical expertise in Israeli payroll and related taxes, being able to support communicating payroll changes globally and review the work of the local payroll providers with a big-picture mindset and great communication skills, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a Payroll Specialist IL, your impact will be:

  • Payroll & Finance Leadership:
  • End-to-End Payroll Management: Lead and execute the complete, accurate, and timely monthly payroll process for ~350 employees in Israel in accordance with local labor laws and company policies.
  • Employee Lifecycle & Benefits: Oversee onboarding/offboarding financial procedures, pension funds, provident schemes, reserve duty claims, expenses, and employee reimbursements.
  • Partnering: Serve as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor for employees, cross-functional teams, Legal, and external consultants on all payroll, tax, and labor policy matters Partnering with external advisors for pension and health.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate, scale, and automate payroll and benefit operations to support company growth and efficiency.
  • Global payroll review: Communicate with local payroll managers of the different subsidiaries -payroll changes (additions, terminations, ad hoc payments) in a timely manner and make sure they are accurately reflected in payroll. Meet deadlines to assure payroll disbursements on time and make adequate review and challenge of the work to make sure payroll data is accurate.Actively follow up to make sure all parties meet the required deadline.
  • Papaya: Being able to communicate with Papaya global for EOR (employer of record) employees and assure proper reporting in Papaya systems, tracking of PTO balances and payment on time.
  • Financial Controlling & Bookkeeping:
  • Financial Operations & Ledger: Manage payroll JEs including vacation and payroll JEs, recreation and other payroll balances and provide JEs to the bookkeeping team to record in our books. Making an analytical check to see balances are accurate and reasonable.
  • Payroll processing: Processing payroll payments, pension payments, ITA and Social insurance reporting in a timely manner. Ability to set transfers in Masav and Leumi banks.
  • Reconciliations & Analysis: Lead monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations including 126 annual reconciliations; track balances for reserve duty and other payments to authorities and make sure they are timely paid. Actively follow up with authorities when required.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, serving as a main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Data Processing: Maintain all payroll records in an organized fashion so it will be easily traced and make it easy to find the necessary data and see that a proper review was made.

Requirements

What you need to succeed in this role:

  • Experience: At least 3–5 years of proven experience as a Senior Payroll Controller, Bookkeeper, or Finance Manager, preferably in a fast-paced global tech company.
  • System Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with Hargal and Netsuite (Payroll & ERP modules) is a must.
  • Experience with Hilan- advantage
  • Experience with Papaya- advantage
  • Prioritization & Execution: Ability to prioritize critical monthly payroll deadlines, operational expense runs, and lifecycle procedures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Global payroll review: Experience in communicating with payroll managers outside of Israel (subsidiaries) and review their work
  • Expertise in Israeli Regulations: Deep comprehension and up-to-date knowledge of Israeli payroll rules, labor laws, tax legislation, and social security regulations.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong background in accounting principles with the ability to analyze complex financial data and run rigorous reconciliations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
  • Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, discrete, service-oriented, and capable of leading initiatives independently.

The expected base salary range for this role is between XXXXX, determined by objective criteria including skills, qualifications, and experience level. This range represents base salary only and does not include variable compensation components such as equity or bonuses.
