Job Description

Why it’s worth it:

At ReliaQuest, the Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our teammates across the globe are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with local requirements. This role supports payroll operations for 1,000+ teammates across the U.S., Ireland, the U.K., Canada, and India, helping deliver a seamless payroll experience that directly supports teammate trust and business continuity.

Beyond payroll processing, this role contributes to the integrity of our people and financial data through audits, reconciliations, reporting, and cross-functional partnership. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to help maintain efficient, compliant, and scalable payroll operations as ReliaQuest continues to scale.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and excited to build experience in global payroll within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The everyday hustle:

  • Support the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and monthly multi-state and international payrolls for salaried and hourly teammates, with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Organize, review, and enter payroll inputs and adjustments, ensuring teammate data is complete, accurate, and aligned with payroll deadlines.
  • Process terminations and other off-cycle payments in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
  • Partner closely with People Business Partners to ensure employee lifecycle changes — including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations — are reflected accurately and processed on time.
  • Perform regular payroll audits and validations to help ensure data integrity, identify discrepancies, and reduce payroll risk.
  • Conduct reconciliations of payroll payments against reported data and support payroll accounting accuracy.
  • Prepare detailed data and documentation for internal and external audits to support compliance and policy adherence.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including reporting and the preparation and distribution of W-2s.
  • Provide meaningful insights through payroll and travel data analysis to support decision-making and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage travel administration and travel-related expenses, including bookings and operational support for guests, customers, candidates, and new hires.
  • Review expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policy.
  • Help train new hires on payroll-related procedures, timelines, and expectations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Benefits, Compliance, Legal, Accounting, and Training on payroll-related initiatives, questions, and projects.
  • Support process improvement efforts that enhance payroll accuracy, compliance, efficiency, and teammate experience.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll information clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent customer service mindset and the ability to support teammates with care, discretion, and responsiveness.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to review data, identify issues, and support resolution.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll data, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

What makes you uncommon:

  • Completed Certified Payroll Professional (CCP).
  • Experience with Workday Payroll and expense reporting tools.
  • Global/ international payroll experience.
