Job Description

Payroll Specialist

Join a purpose-driven team and take
ownership of an end-to-end payroll function—partnering with an external
provider to deliver accurate, compliant and on-time pay for a multi-site
workforce. You’ll be the go-to person for payroll support, reporting and system
improvements across HR and rostering platforms.

What you’ll do

  • ·Coordinate
payroll inputs end-to-end (timesheets, allowances, leave,
starters/movers/leavers) and submit to the external payroll provider.
  • ·Validate and
reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies before finalisation.
  • ·Partner with
People & Culture and operational leaders to meet cut-offs and strengthen
    time/attendance compliance.
  • ·Respond to
payroll enquiries with clear, timely guidance for employees and managers.
  • ·Maintain accurate
payroll records, leave balances and accruals.
  • ·Interpret and
apply the SCHADS Award, Fair Work requirements and relevant enterprise
    agreements.
  • ·Produce
compliance/management reporting and support audits, budgets and analysis.
  • ·Support
HR/rostering/payroll systems (e.g., Employment Hero), improve workflows and
    document processes.

What you’ll bring

  • ·4+ years’ payroll
    experience (multi-site and/or community services/OOHC experience highly
regarded), including working with an external provider.
  • ·Proven ability to
juggle deadlines, follow up timecards/approvals and deliver accurate pay runs.
  • ·Strong compliance
knowledge—especially the SCHADS Award and Fair Work legislation—with confidence
    interpreting entitlements.
  • ·High attention to
detail, strong reconciliation skills and a track record of resolving payroll
    issues at the root cause.
  • ·Comfortable
supporting integrated HR/rostering/payroll systems (Employment Hero or similar)
    and maintaining data integrity.
  • ·Strong Excel
skills and clear, customer-focused communication style.
  • ·A continuous
improvement mindset—keen to streamline processes and build simple, helpful
    documentation.

This role is classified at Level 5 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS Award). Remuneration will be based on this classification, with consideration given to experience, qualifications, and suitability, and may be negotiable for the preferred candidate
