Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Payroll Processing
· Process monthly payroll cycles (including off-cycle runs if needed)
· Collect, validate, and input payroll data (attendance, overtime, bonuses, deductions)
· Calculate gross-to-net salaries, taxes, and social contributions
· Ensure accurate and timely salary payments
2. Statutory Compliance (China-specific)
· Handle Individual Income Tax (IIT) calculations and filings
· Administer social insurance and housing fund (SI & HF) contributions
· Prepare and submit statutory reports (monthly, quarterly, annual)
· Stay updated on China labor laws and payroll regulations
3. Data Management & Reporting
· Maintain payroll records and employee data in HR/payroll systems
· Prepare payroll reports (labor cost reports, variance analysis, audit reports)
· Support year-end activities (annual tax filing, reconciliation)
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
· Liaise with payroll vendors and government authorities
· Partner with HR and Finance on payroll inputs and reconciliations
· Respond to employee payroll queries
5. Controls, Audit & Process Improvement
· Perform payroll checks and reconciliations before/after payroll run
· Support internal/external audits
· Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
Qualifications & skills :
· Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
· 0–3 years of payroll or HR operations experience, preferably with China payroll.
· Basic understanding of payroll calculations & knowledge of China payroll
· Experience with payroll systems eg ADP, SAP, UKG, GAIA etc
· Eagerness to learn and grow in a global payroll environment.
· Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
· Problem-solving mindset
· Good communication (English + Mandarin usually required)
