Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital, as well as a clinic system with primary care clinics located in Minneapolis and across Hennepin County. We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll/HR Systems team. This full-time role will primarily work hybrid. You will be required to work 3 days on campus and 2 days remote. However, that could change due to business needs.

Purpose of the position: Assists leaders with PeopleSoft Time & Labor issues and responds to payroll inquiries from Hennepin Healthcareemployees.ThePayrollSpecialistscompletealltasksrequiredinafullservicePayrollOffice suchasgarnishmentandchild support administration,union duesdeductions,calculation of retroactive salaryadjustmentsandthepreparationofmanualcheck requeststoresolveemployeepaymentissues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • MonitorandprocesstimesheetsforemployeesutilizingTime&Attendance System
  • Provideoutstandingcustomerservicetostaffandleadersbyprovidingtimelyandaccuratefeedback to payroll inquiries
  • EntergarnishmentspecificationsinthePeopleSoftHCMSystemandensureproper,timelyhandling of court ordered wage assignments
  • Reconcilechildsupport,andallotherwageassignmentpaymentstoensurethatpaymentsreachthe designated vendor
  • Auditretroactivesalaryadjustmentsandcalculateunderpayments/overpaymentsasrequiredand process necessary correction
  • Managethedirectdepositreversal&replacement process
  • Managethevoid&replacementcheck process
  • Managetheoff-cyclecheckcreation process
  • Manageregularauditqueriestoensuredataintegrityanddistributepayroll-related reports
  • ManageMetroTransitandPTOforFitness programs
  • Investigate,reviewandmakesuggestionsforprocessimprovementswithinthePeopleSoftHCM System that provide maximum benefits of a fully automated payroll system

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of office clerical experience

  • Anapprovedequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperience

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Two yearsPeopleSoftHRorPayrollexperience
  • Fundamental PayrollCertificationorCertifiedPayrollProfessionalaplus

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Knowledge of payroll regulatory standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable computer system and payroll software programs
  • Skill in working independently, multitasking and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines
