Location: Kings Hill / Hybrid

Salary/package: £27,500 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Connect2Kent are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our busy payroll team, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely weekly payments for our temporary workforce. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is organised and has a strong eye for detail. Payroll experience would be beneficial, but we're also keen to hear from people who are confident managing workloads, meeting deadlines and delivering excellent customer service. Why this role matters

The successful candidate will help ensure workers and suppliers are paid accurately, on time and in line with legislation, contracts and internal processes. This is a varied position within a busy payroll function, where you'll support payroll activities, resolve queries and work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver an excellent payroll service.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing weekly payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Supporting the processing of weekly payrolls, ensuring payments are accurate and made on time.
  • Overseeing data imports from CRM into the Pay & Bill system and resolving exceptions.
  • Reviewing warnings and errors to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with payroll administration tasks including payslips, reconciliations and pension uploads.
  • Processing high volumes of holiday requests from temporary workers.
  • Responding to payroll queries from managers, workers and suppliers.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Working closely with colleagues across payroll, recruitment and finance to resolve queries and maintain payroll accurate.
  • Supporting improvements to reporting, processes and controls.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Payroll experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced administrative, finance, customer service or office-based environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to learn new processes quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to analyse complex data.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
