About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Mackay head office team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager and collaborating closely with HR/IR and Finance, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across multiple contracts and sites throughout Queensland and New South Wales.

This is a dynamic role suited to a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and engaging with employees and stakeholders across the East Coast. You will take ownership of weekly and fortnightly pay runs, ensuring all payroll obligations are met in line with company policies, industrial instruments, and legislative requirements.

Minimum skills and attributes we are seeking:

  • Proven experience in end to end, high volume payroll with multiple EAs and Awards;
  • Experience administering end of month reporting, statutory returns and salary packaging;
  • Highly developed time management and ability to prioritise deadlines;
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of Contracts and Enterprise Agreements;
  • Very high attention to detail;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality while handling sensitive data;
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency;
  • Proven track record of maintaining payroll accuracy and compliance;
  • Solutions and customer service focused;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously;
  • Hunger for continuous improvement & process optimisation;
  • Experience using Pronto (highly desirable).
