About the role:

We're looking for a detail-obsessed and people-focused Payroll Officer to join the team at Live Nation Australasia in Melbourne. Sitting at the heart of our finance function, this role keeps payroll running smoothly across Australia and New Zealand.

You'll be the go-to expert on all things payroll, managing end-to-end processing across 20 payroll entities covering approximately 400 permanent employees and up to 600 seasonal casuals. What you’ll be doing:

  • End-to-end payroll processing: Manage fortnightly and monthly pay cycles across 20 payroll entities, covering approximately 400 permanent employees and up to 600 seasonal casuals across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Compliance and reporting: Provide Single Touch Payroll reporting to the ATO and IRD, and manage annual requirements including superannuation, payroll tax and WorkCover insurance.
  • Stakeholder and query management: Partner with HR and Finance on new starters, payroll changes, out-of-cycle payments, and respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliation and accuracy: Check and reconcile all payroll reports prior to approval and provide ad hoc termination and redundancy calculations with full manual accuracy.
  • Annual payroll processes: Coordinate merit increases, incentive payments, reportable fringe benefits, Employee Share Scheme reporting and parental leave administration.
  • Process improvement: Drive continuous improvement by building efficiencies, maintaining thorough documentation, and identifying opportunities to streamline payroll operations.

What you’ll bring:

  • Solid payroll experience: 5+ years in an end-to-end payroll role of similar scale, with strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation including PAYG, superannuation and WorkCover, and experience across New Zealand payroll preferred.
  • Systems proficiency: Experience with ADP Payforce highly regarded, alongside familiarity with Workforce and Deputy, plus intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail: A high level of numerical reasoning and analytical ability, with a track record of getting it right first time.
  • Discretion and professionalism: Proven ability to handle sensitive payroll information with the utmost confidentiality, reliability and care.
  • Strong communicator: Confident working with HR, Finance and employees at all levels, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable team player: Self-motivated and able to work independently, while contributing to a collaborative team culture that embraces change and innovation.
