We have an exciting full-time role available within our People & Payroll team based in Cremorne. The Payroll Officer is accountable for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of brands, across monthly and fortnightly pay cycles. This role will work closely with stakeholders to assist with resolving queries and provide support to the wider business.
Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, this role will be primarily responsible for supporting our retail and support office teams with day-to-day requirements, ad-hoc reporting, responding to queries, and managing changes across the business. With a total payroll of 10,000+ team members, this role is fast-paced and high volume, requiring the payroll officer to be highly organised and have a make-it-happen attitude.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting in the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll for team members in Australia & New Zealand via the payroll systems.
• Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information.
• Resolving payroll discrepancies.
• Assist with calculations including but not limited to, back-payments, leave and terminations.
• Partner and deliver impeccable customer service to the business in assisting with any payroll inquiries or concerns.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external team on payroll-related activities.
• Updating and maintaining payroll records and leave, sickness, and overtime reports.
• Any other reasonable instructions as directed by Management.
To be successful you will have the following:
• Demonstrated at least 2 years’ experience in a high-volume payroll environment (retail preferred but not required)
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation (Awards, Super, Tax, Leave, etc.)
• Experience with Chris21/iChris and Dayforce Ceridian highly regarded
• Understanding of Australian Awards (General Retail Award preferred).
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt and modify to change quickly as the business continues to grow
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
• High attention to detail including accuracy and thoroughness and ability to monitor work for quality
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence with the Microsoft Office suite
• A calm, can-do attitude with top-tier organisational skills
• High ethical standards and ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
