We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our high-performing Payroll Team within the Hungry Jack’s National Support Office. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll across a workforce of approximately 25,000 employees nationally, while providing exceptional support to employees and stakeholders across Australia.

This is also an exciting opportunity to join the business during a significant period of systems transformation, with the recent implementation of the new and exciting Workday platform across the organisation.

Payroll Processing Responsibilities

  • Assisting with end-to-end weekly payroll processing in a team environment using Workday Payroll
  • Data entry and maintenance for new starters, employee changes, and terminations
  • Review and management of Time & Attendance data from LIFELENZ
  • Calculation of various leave types including parental leave, annual leave, long service leave, sick leave, and workers compensation
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end payroll processes
  • Accurate interpretation of Awards and EBAs
  • Responding to payroll enquiries via email, phone, and JIRA ticketing system
  • Monthly and year-to-date payroll reconciliations
  • Assisting with superannuation and payroll tax reconciliations
  • Participating in end-of-month and end-of-financial-year activities
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems and processes

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience within a high-volume, fast-paced payroll environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation requirements, Awards and EBAs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage competing priorities

Desirable

  • Experience using Workday or similar payroll/HRIS systems
  • Payroll qualifications (Certificate or Diploma highly regarded)
  • Intermediate Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables
