Global Mobility – Tax Specialist (GCC)

The Global Mobility – Tax Specialist will support tax compliance and operational delivery for internationally mobile employees as part of Carrier Business Services – Payroll organization. The role focuses on execution, coordination, and governance of global inbound and outbound tax activities, partnering closely with global HR, Finance, Payroll, and external tax and relocation advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day tax compliance activities for global assignees.
Coordinate preparation and filing of expatriate income tax returns through external tax vendors.
Track advance tax payments, tax return filings, and tax year closures.
Partner with Payroll and Finance teams on tax withholding, shadow payroll, and all applicable forms for the different countries.
Coordinate with external advisors to support tax equalization processes and assist with reconciliations.
Partner with external advisors to support employee tax briefings for inbound and outbound assignments.
Respond to routine employee tax queries and escalate complex issues as required.
Review tax vendor deliverables for accuracy and adherence to SLAs.
Maintain compliance trackers, reports, and audit-ready documentation.
Support process standardization, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA / CPA or tax qualification preferred.
Experience:
• 8-10 years of experience in expatriate tax, global mobility tax, or individual international tax.
• Experience in global inbound and outbound tax compliance.
• GCC, Payroll, shared services, or Big-4 experience preferred.
Key Skills
Working knowledge of global individual income tax for expatriates
Basic understanding of bilateral tax treaties and tax residency rules
Strong attention to detail and process orientation
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
