Job Description

The Traffic Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely driver pay by completing weekly payroll reconciliation, resolving pay exceptions, and maintaining key payroll/driver records. This role also supports timekeeping/PTO administration, driver onboarding and training documentation, and selected traffic office administrative duties (payables, purchasing, and uniform program support) as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Driver Payroll Processing & Reconciliation

    • Process weekly payroll support for drivers across assigned locations.

    • Verify and execute irregular pay items such as vacation/holiday, sick, guarantee pay, reimbursements/expenses, and payroll adjustments.

    • Perform trip/pay edits in TMAP, including creating/editing entries as needed to correct pay.

    • Monitor and follow up on delays and exceptions impacting pay; coordinate with supervisors/SCLs to confirm correct resolution.

    Time & Attendance / PTO Administration (PurelyHR)

    • Administer time-off processes for drivers and office staff in PurelyHR, including balance management, settings maintenance, and employee setup.

    • Manage PTO, LOA accrual impacts, retirement payouts, and related adjustments per policy.

    • Coordinate vacation bidding and awarding (annual process and single-day requests) per company policy and site guidelines.

    Driver Support, Onboarding & Training Coordination

    • Support new-hire onboarding coordination related to payroll/timekeeping readiness (system setup, policy orientation, required forms).

    • Maintain training documentation for payroll/timekeeping-related training.

    • Participate in payroll cross-training/backfill preparation to maintain coverage.

    Administrative Support (Traffic Office / Payables / Purchasing)

    • Support accounts payable tasks as assigned, including creating/maintaining POs, setting up vendors, and receiving goods/services.

    • Coordinate driver uniform program administration.

    • Submit weekly timesheets for assigned groups (e.g., Centerline) as applicable.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $39,500 - $63,100.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams); ability to learn/payroll systems quickly (TMAP, SAP, PurelyHR, Geotab).
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret policy, and apply consistent pay decisions using sound judgment.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized; able to manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including handling difficult conversations professionally and calmly.
  • Understanding of dispatch/transportation operations and how exceptions (delay, logs, trip edits) impact driver pay is strongly preferred.
