Job Description

The Role of Payroll Coordinator

Under limited supervision, validate that all employees’ time is entered and approved in TCP to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in office.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Reviews payroll information for accuracy and ensures integrity of payroll data.
  • Reviews time records for assigned employees to ensure appropriate approvals are in place and accurate hours and pay are reflected by corporate payroll deadline.
  • Reviews payroll reports prior to corporate payroll submitting to ADP.
  • Answers payroll policy and procedure related inquiries.
  • Responds to employee questions regarding their paychecks.
  • Maintains controls in payroll process and works with management to improve processes.
  • Maintains employees’ sick and vacation accrual balances based on accrual rates in the Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) (CBA) and usage.
  • Reviews and processes union related benefits.
  • Requests setup in TimeClock Plus (TCP) to pay employees based on personnel changes.
  • Creates IT Tickets to provide appropriate TCP access to employees, after initial set up.
  • Participates in training employees on the use of TCP.
  • Completes ad hoc wage related reports, where needed.
  • Provides timely information to management on trends or concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience in payroll processing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FLSA regulations and other payroll-related information at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of applications, strong Excel.
  • Timekeeping programs (e.g.,TimeClock Plus, Kronos, etc.) and interfacing with external payroll processing vendor (ADP or similar).
  • Effective Communication Skills (verbal/written) in daily interactions with internal and external personnel.
  • Demonstrated partnership capabilities.
  • Running and creating query reports (e.g., Showcase, Crystal Reports).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
