About the role
This ongoing part-time role (.6 EFT) is responsible for coordinating Brophy’s payroll function, ensuring salaries are paid accurately, taxation and salary packaging are managed correctly, and leave entitlements are calculated and reported in line with legislation, awards, and organisational policies.
As our Payroll Coordinator, you’ll be the trusted point of contact for remuneration and benefits, providing clear, practical advice to staff and supporting the Finance Manager with all related payroll forms, policies, and procedures. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining and improving payroll processes, systems, and reporting, helping the organisation operate efficiently and confidently.
Beyond payroll, you’ll support the broader Finance Team with other administrative tasks as needed, and build positive working relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders to help deliver strong outcomes for clients.
This role is ideal for someone organised, detail-focused, and proud of getting things right. You can manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure, particularly around pay cycles. If you’re proactive, accuracy-driven, and always looking for ways to improve how things are done, while enjoying being part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
