Payroll Clerk - TransportationResponsible for various transportation payroll guidelines and timekeeping functions/policies. Helps with communication and training on timekeeping process and policy to transportation employees and managers. Monitors payroll, Amalgamated Transport Union (ATU) and District policies that affect the transportation department pay. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.
Act as liaison between the payroll and transportation department as it relates to timekeeping issues and how those issues relate to pay.
Perform review and edits in Kronos for transportation employees to assist managers by: looking for missed punches, ensuring entries are in compliance with pay basis and District/ATU policies, communicating to managers timekeeping entries by pay basis for holidays, snow days, etc., ensuring exceptions are recorded correctly especially as related to those employees paid over 12 months who work only 9 or 10 months.
May set up additional pays for transportation employees to be loaded by Payroll Specialists or Manager.
Prepare requested timekeeping reports for transportation.
Assist Payroll Kronos Specialist in training for transportation employees and managers as related to timekeeping (Kronos) and the timekeeping impacts on employee pay.
Research timekeeping questions and problems and communicate answers back to the appropriate individuals.
