Job Description

Thenamaris is a global ship manager of high specification modern ocean-going vessels. We help deliver goods to people around the world, enriching their lives. We do this by safely managing a world class fleet of ships, providing the highest levels of service to our principals and clients. Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc. manages Tanker vessels, Thenamaris ConBulk Inc. manages bulk carriers and containerships, while Thenamaris LNG Inc. manages LNG and LPG carriers.

Thenamaris is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join the Human Resources Department.

The successful candidate will support payroll and compensation & benefits operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, confidentiality, and high-quality employee service within a fast-paced shipping environment.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, and working closely with the Compensation & Benefits Officer, the key role responsibilities include monthly payroll processing, submissions to authorities such as ERGANI, EFKA, and FMY, maintenance of HR and payroll records, and support of compensation & benefits reporting and compliance activities.

The role also supports onboarding and offboarding processes, employee contract administration, as well as employee requests mainly related to compensation and benefits. In addition, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist administers employee benefits and job tools including insurance programs, credit cards, and mobile phones, while contributing to reporting and HR process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • A relevant postgraduate degree will be considered an asset
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in payroll and compensation & benefits administration within a corporate environment, ideally in an in-house HR department
  • Excellent PC literacy and advanced knowledge of MS Office applications; experience with payroll software and HRMS systems is required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, service-oriented approach
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and confidentiality
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable)
