Function: Finance
Supervision: Payroll Manager – ANZ
The ideal candidate is an Accountant with
experience in commercial, corporate, or property funds. Prior Big 4 experience
in a commercial role is highly desirable. Experience in property and funds
management will be strongly regarded.
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5
years of accounting experience in commercial, corporate, or property funds
environments.
• Prepare payroll inputs (e.g., timesheets,
allowances and leave data) for review
• Support payroll processing cycles by
completing assigned tasks accurately and within required timeframes
• Assist with payroll adjustments,
terminations and corrections under supervision and in accordance with
procedures
• Perform basic validation checks and
escalate discrepancies as required
• Respond to payroll-related enquiries from
staff in accordance with established procedures, and escalate matters where
guidance or approval is required
• Maintain complete and accurate records
(including supporting documentation and approvals) to evidence payroll
transactions and any system changes, in line with audit and compliance
requirements
Employee data
administration
• Create, maintain and update employee
payroll records (new starters, changes and leavers) in payroll systems
• Maintain documentation and audit trails to
support payroll processing, reviews and audits
Reporting &
reconciliations
• Assist with basic payroll reconciliations
including leave balances
• Support preparation of standard payroll
reports and data requests
Compliance & controls
• Follow established payroll processes,
controls and checklists
• Assist with audit and review requests as
directed
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with
privacy requirements when handling payroll and employee information
Personal and
professional standards
• Comply with Centuria policies, procedures
and relevant legislative requirements
• Perform tasks in accordance with internal
controls, segregation of duties and documented processes
• Act with integrity and professionalism,
including appropriate handling of confidential information
This Role is Ideal
For:
Tertiary qualification (or currently
studying) in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline
• Prior experience supporting Australian
payroll processing is required
• Exposure to New Zealand payroll is
preferred
• High attention to detail and a commitment
to accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication
skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders
• Working knowledge of payroll controls,
including the ability to follow checklists and documented procedures
• Ability to handle employee data with
discretion and maintain data quality in payroll systems
• Proven ability to work effectively and
collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong time management skills, including
the ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines
• High level of organization, with the
ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records
• Proactive approach to identifying issues,
following up and progressing matters to resolution, including escalation where
appropriate
Software skills
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel
skills
• Willingness to learn payroll systems,
including Rippling and Micropay
