Job Description

The Payroll and Benefits Analyst is responsible for supporting accurate and timely processing of payroll, full administration of employee benefits, and accurate and timely maintenance of employee data integrity. This role also manages insurance-related activities and supports HR operations through letter creation and compliance with organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Management
    • Validate salary inputs, deductions, and allowances.
    • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Coordinate with vendors and ensure timely enrollment and updates.
    • Communicate benefit changes and act as a point of contact and assist Stantec employees with queries.
  • Employee Data Management
    • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
    • Ensure timely updates for new hires, exits, and internal movements.
    • Support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Letter Creation & Documentation
    • Prepare HR letters such as employment confirmation, salary revisions, and other official communications.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational templates and approval workflows.
    • Any other miscellaneous HR related duties as assigned by the Payroll and Benefits Lead

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and HRIS tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
