Reporting to: Payroll and Benefits Manager
Location: Calgary, McTavish Office
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Closing Date: July 31, 2026

In collaboration with the Payroll and Benefits Manager, the Payroll and Benefits Administrator plays a critical role in supporting and managing all aspects of the organization's payroll processing and employee benefits administration. Your commitment to providing exceptional service to employees and maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations will be integral to our success.
In this role you will:
• Provide administrative support throughout the full payroll cycle in Dayforce including:
◦ Prepare and validate semi-monthly full-cycle Canadian payroll for salaried and hourly employees following the Canada Labour Code as a federally regulated organization.
◦ Prepare, balance, and reconcile payroll data, and complete audits on any changes and updates to payroll.
◦ Verify employee timesheet data and other pay adjustments.
◦ Process new hires, terminations, and employee status changes (e.g. compensation adjustments, leaves of absence).
◦ Process onetime adjustments to earnings, deductions, and memo calculations.
◦ Process off cycle, additional payroll, commissions, and advances when needed.
◦ Calculate earnings such as retro pay, commissions, holiday pay, reimbursements from employees for overpayments, benefits, pensions, paid leaves, etc.
• Administer the employee benefit plan including processing new enrollments, updates, and terminations.
• Adjust Dayforce setup as required.
• Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, including RRSP contributions, Records of Employment, and other statements.
• Process employee recoverable and other authorized deductions (i.e. garnishment, employee portion premium, etc.).
• Prepare, process, and submit payroll month end tasks (i.e., AD&D balance, HSA/WSA balances, WCB balance, etc.).
• Prepare and submit required information for yearend processing including WCB yearly annual return balancing and T4s.
• Provide prompt, friendly customer service to employees on payroll related questions and inquiries.
• Complete any related pay audits, analysis, and investigations.
• Complete required payroll testing and any subsequent documentation.
• Problem-solve to correct inaccurate payments and process corrections.
• Assist Payroll and Benefits Manager with Dayforce maintenance and updates.
• Ensure compliance with Canada Labour Code and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
• Assist with other duties and projects as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• A post secondary certificate in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of related payroll and benefits administration experience in a cloud based HRIS platform (Dayforce, ADP, etc.).
• Benefits and RRSP administration experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Bonus points if you have:
• Payroll Compliance Professional designation.
• Hands on Dayforce experience.
