The Payroll Services Administrator, under general supervision, performs complex administrative duties in support of monthly and biweekly payrolls. Responsibilities are typically routine in nature.
Payroll Administrator III
Salary Range: ($55,000-$57,500)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for biweekly and monthly supplemental payroll inputs and on-demand payments for all employees
- Reviews and processes Workday Retro Pay report. Ensure that retro pay and benefit calculations are correct
- Responsible for processing timely deposits to the IRS after each payroll
- Responsible for all termination pay calculations and payroll input, including vacation and compensatory pay
- Responsible for relocation allowance payments
- Processes departmental requests for Payroll Cost Transfers (PCTs) in Canopy
- Works closely with Budget Office to clear account deficits
- Responsible for review of payroll default account, and creating payroll entries to clear balances
- Responsible for entry and corrections to optional payroll deductions, including Bridge Builders, Rec Center, LionCash, and Faculty/Staff Meal Plans
- Responsible for monthly reporting of optional payroll deductions to responsible departments
- Serves as primary backup for TRS reporting including, but not limited to, correcting TRS entries in Workday, answering TRS questions from employees, and completing monthly reporting in the TRS RE portal if needed
- Serves as primary backup for setting up and maintaining Glacier (nonresident alien tax portal) records including collecting documents, follow-up with employees, and entering tax information obtained from Glacier into Workday (HR/Payroll System)
- Assists with recording payments and taxes withheld throughout the year in Glacier to aid with the 1042 process
- Assist employees with questions regarding biweekly and monthly pay statements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience..
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Two (2) years related experience, knowledge of payroll deductions and calculations as well as Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team. Work with confidential data..

Salary Range: ($57,500-$60,000)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in accounting or business-related field. Four or more (4+) years of payroll or budget experience in higher education. Experience with Workday.
