About the role

As part of NOV’s regional payroll team will be directly responsible for supporting the business units in Norway. The Payroll Administrator’s main responsibility is to ensure the timely processing of the monthly payroll schedule, with the ability to work under strict deadlines while always maintaining a high level of accuracy.

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be able to adapt to changing priorities and requirements while exercising sound judgment based on business needs. You will also be quick to identify critical information and respond appropriately.

Please note: This is a temporary part-time position (50% FTE) offered on a fixed-term contract for 12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly payroll process for Norway, with a primary focus on absence management, including the administration and follow-up of employee absences, reimbursement claims with public authorities in Norway and responding to payroll- and HR-related inquiries from employees
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with local legal requirements and regulations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for your supported business units regarding payroll inquiries and updates.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of payroll master data inputs for the payroll system, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
  • Perform time reconciliation.
  • Verify payroll run results.
  • Collaborate with Corporate HR & Finance where relevant, including related payroll requests and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • Min. 2 years of experience from Norwegian payroll.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and manage payroll data.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to provide colleagues with the information they need to perform their tasks and remove obstacles.
  • Ability to effectively allocate time to complete tasks.
  • Confident and professional when representing the company in person and in writing.
  • Strong sense of customer focus (internal/external).
  • Committed to self-development and continuous improvement through the role to achieve career goals.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP payroll systems.
