Job Description

Responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly non-union payrolls; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions. Assist with bi-weekly player payrolls and full-time employee payrolls. Help maintain payroll and time tracking within Workday database.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and processing payrolls

  • Assist with running reports for union compliance and dues/benefits remittance

  • Assist with maintenance, testing, and upgrades within Workday

  • Maintain and audit timecards for non-exempt employees and minor league players

  • Correspond with Equifax regarding unemployment claims and maintenance

  • Reconcile unclaimed wages for all payrolls

  • Collaborate with co-workers on projects and answer employee questions

  • Actively participate in payroll audits

  • Maintain appropriate payroll records in accordance with company policies and procedures

  • Enroll, fund, and reconcile player/coach/staff debit cards for seasonal meal and housing per diem

  • Track imputed income for employees with company leased vehicles

  • File and archive documents

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 2-3 years of payroll processing experience

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Experience with database functions and maintenance, including report creation

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

  • Must have the ability to problem solve, multitask, meet hard deadlines, work independently and in a team environment, prioritize, pay attention to details, and communicate effectively
