Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma with additional training desirable
- Documentation of a clear criminal record in compliance with state statute
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies
- Ability to compute mathematical data accurately
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Proficient in oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong diplomacy skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, spreadsheet maintenance, and data analysis
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and personnel information
- Proficient in data entry
- Congenial telephone etiquette
Note: This assignment may require a valid driver's license and access/availability of a reliable vehicle. Employees must meet all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the service center's insurance carrier.

Location: Onsite (not a remote position)
Salary Range: $47,356-$56,329
Job Objectives:
Provide administrative and technical support to the Payroll Department through payroll-related data entry, records maintenance, employment verification processing, spreadsheet management, customer service, and other support functions that contribute to accurate and timely payroll operations.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

- Maintain confidentiality of payroll, personnel, and employee information in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures
- Enter and maintain payroll-related data in payroll and human resource information systems
- Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy and report discrepancies to payroll staff
- Prepare, maintain, and update Excel spreadsheets used for payroll processing, reconciliations, and reporting
- Process employment verification requests in accordance with established procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Respond to routine employee and district inquiries regarding payroll information and refer complex matters to payroll staff
- Support payroll processing activities by gathering, verifying, and entering data within established deadlines
- Provide customer service to employees and districts via telephone, email, and in-person communications
- Support substitute payroll processes, including sub pulls and related reporting
- Monitor shared payroll email accounts and distribute inquiries to appropriate staff as needed
- Assist with special payroll & benefit projects, audits, reporting requirements, and year-end activities
- Perform other duties as directed by the Sr. Payroll Supervisor/Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer

Performance Evaluations:
Job performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions adopted by the Governing Board of the EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER OF CENTRAL OHIO.
