The Opportunity

The Payroll Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and transactional support to Encore’s Payroll team, helping ensure employee requests, documentation, and recurring payroll-related tasks are handled accurately and efficiently.

This role will support a variety of administrative needs across the department and work closely with members of the payroll team to help keep processes organized and moving forward. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, and willing to jump in wherever support is needed.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain broader exposure to Payroll and HR operations while supporting a fast-paced and growing organization. Previous payroll experience is not required; we are looking for someone with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and an interest in supporting employee-facing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Payroll team
• Assist with recurring payroll-related requests, documentation, and data entry
• Monitor and help respond to incoming employee questions and requests, routing more complex payroll matters to the appropriate team member
• Assist with collecting, organizing, reviewing, and maintaining payroll-related documentation
• Support the team with employee information and payroll record updates
• Assist with preparing reports, spreadsheets, and other recurring payroll documentation
• Help maintain accurate and organized employee and payroll records
• Perform basic research and follow-up on missing or incomplete information
• Assist with scanning, filing, mail, and other general administrative responsibilities
• Partner with members of the payroll and broader Talent, Culture & People teams to support changing priorities and department needs
• Maintain confidentiality when handling employee and payroll information
• Perform additional administrative and Payroll support as needed

What You Bring to the Table

• Previous administrative or office support experience preferred
• Experience within Human Resources, Payroll, People Operations, or a related environment is a plus, but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with repetitive and high-volume transactional tasks
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information appropriately
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work independently while also supporting multiple team members
• Dependable, timely, and able to consistently meet deadlines
• Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever support is needed
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Pawtucket, RI Monday through Friday

What Will Make You Stand Out?

• Previous experience as an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, Payroll Assistant, Payroll Coordinator, HR Generalist, or similar administrative role
• Exposure to payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, or employee recordkeeping systems
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
