We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for Payroll Administration Support to join our team as we continue to grow and expand our team.

Position Scope:

The Payroll Administration Support position is responsible for providing administrative and operational support within the Payroll Services department. This role is assigned to complete payroll processes, pension files and other administrative related tasks, ensuring accurate and timely assistance for clients. The position works closely with the Payroll Team Manager to develop payroll processes, implement new payroll clients, and maintain high standards of data integrity and customer service.

Payroll Administration Support plays a key role in supporting the payroll team. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with payroll systems and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform payroll support functions for the payroll team, including data entry, schedule maintenance, and general administrative duties.
• Aid with pension files with cross training as required.
• Answer calls & emails, support admin tasks, and assist as needed.
• Assist with payroll processes accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
• Provide customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues.
• Troubleshoot client issues with cloud-based payroll software, offering viable solutions and support.
• Assist in the development and implementation of payroll processes for new and existing clients.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies.
• Support the team and clients with general payroll functions as required.
• Utilize payroll system solutions (e.g., Payworks, ADP, Ceridian) and MS Office applications for data management and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, payroll policies, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll administration.
• Knowledge of payroll, benefits, and pension administration.
• Payroll Compliance Professional Certificate (PCP) or willingness to obtain one is preferred.
• Experience with payroll system solutions (Payworks, ADP, Ceridian) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse individuals
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a high-paced environment.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving payroll system issues.
• Experience in a customer service role is considered and asset.

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid work environment, with an expectation of working in the office 1 to 2 days per week based on operational and team needs.
• Overtime may be required during peak payroll periods or to address urgent operational issues.
