Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Controller, is responsible for assisting the department with general accounting functions including payroll and accounts payable.

Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll
    • Processes biweekly payroll
    • Verifies and processes payroll in accordance with all hospital pay policies and procedures
    • Reviews and verifies timesheets
    • Processes payroll for termination, earned time payouts, and unique circumstances
    • Responsible for issuing W-2's timely
    • Completes payroll reporting to include internal reports, tax reporting, retirement reporting, NH state reporting, and other reporting as requested
    • Troubleshoots payroll processing as required
  2. Accounts Payable
    • Processes Invoices: processes invoices to include non-POs, purchase orders, patient refunds, credit memos, reviews, statements, etc. Responsible for all invoices getting into the system with proper back-up, sending for manager approval, and issuing payments timely
    • Completes statement review regularly - troubleshoots and researches as applicable
    • Vendor maintenance - maintains contacts and ACH information

  2. Attends and participates in a minimum of 50% department staff meetings and signs off on review of 100% department staff meeting minutes
  3. Completes all required annual education on or before the due date

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities and possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation, to safely perform the essential functions of the job.

  1. Minimal physical effort required with occassional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds; stooping; and pick, punch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers
  2. Ability to effectively manage considerable mental strett
  3. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
  4. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and convey information in a clear, concise and accurate manner
  6. Familiarity with computer and other business machines

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting or Business preferred

Preferred minimum two years of experience, preferably in healthcare

Knowledge of general accounting procedures required
