About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payment Operations Specialistto join our digital banking operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of outgoing and incoming payment transactions in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and established cut-off times.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining payment integrity across multiple payment channels, including RPP, RENTAS, and SWIFT, while working closely with internal teams and external correspondent banks to support smooth daily payment operations in a fast-paced digital banking environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Payment Processing
- Monitor and process daily outgoing and incoming payments, including manual, single, batch, and urgent transactions via RPP, RENTAS, and SWIFT.
- Ensure all payment transactions comply with internal policies, external regulatory requirements, product guidelines, and applicable cut-off times.
- Perform checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payment instructions prior to execution.
2. Reconciliation & Reporting
- Prepare and provide daily payment reports required for reconciliation and operational tracking.
- Perform daily payment-related reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks in a timely manner.
3. Stakeholder & External Liaison
- Liaise daily with Cards and Lending teams on payment-related matters.
- Coordinate with correspondent banks to resolve payment issues, rejections, or inquiries.
- Ensure timely communication and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Policy & Procedure Adherence
- Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s payment operations policies, procedures, and control requirements.
- Assist in documenting, reviewing, and maintaining the Payment Operations team’s Operational Procedures.
5. Process Improvement & Support
- Proactively suggest enhancements to operational systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Support operational initiatives and improvement projects as required.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by the Manager.
Requirement:
- Experience in a similar operations role within a financial services institution.
- Good understanding of payment operations and transaction processing.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet daily cut-off timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel
- Basic accounting knowledge and experience.
- General understanding of Treasury Operations
- Hands-on experience with payment systems such as RPP, RENTAS, and SWIFT
