To check, verify and capture payment instructions into the Payments systems, and liaise with relevant stakeholders to gather missing information and / supporting documentation to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the instruction and fulfil the delivery of payments to meet contractual obligations.
Daily processing of:
(i) Domestic (MACSS & EFT) transfers,
(ii) Cross-border payments (Inward & Outward Remittances), and,
(iii) Clearing transactions (Inward & Outward).
(iv) Cash Management
and any other tasks performed within the Payments and Service Centre areas
Productivity and Service
• Get the next transaction pending release from the processing hub.
• Verify that work is captured accurately by the payments processing officers by using the relevant checklist.
• In verification process, if an error is identified, the transaction must be returned to the capturer
• In verification process, if no errors are identified, the transaction must be released within laid down service level agreements on the relevant systems ,namely , ,Finacle, Eximbills Enterprise and . Alliance Messaging Hub (SWIFT)
• Ensure that all assigned request assistance transactions are immediately attended.
• Immediate escalation of unresolved payment related issues to the team leader and line manager.
• Immediate escalation of system downtime to the team leader and line manager.
• Take accountability and responsibility for any email queries and ensure resolution or escalation.
• Documenting of errors on the error tracking spread sheet.
• Ensure all pending release and request assistance transactions are finalised same day.
• Handling of queries from both internal & external stakeholders.
• Regulatory Reporting
Cost and control
• Minimising risk by adhering to laid down procedures in terms of:
- Adherence to the Direct Dealing list and system validation.
- Special instructions from clients.
- Group Reference Guide and International Standards Organisation (ISO) working instruction.
• Ensure that at the end of each day all pending releasing transactions are actioned.
• Ensuring accurate releasing of transactions thereby mitigating errors and avoiding losses by adhering to laid down procedures.
• Ensuring that correct revenue is recovered as per the concessionary pricing list on the SharePoint site.
Compliance and Risk
• Ensure that all routine controls relative to the service area are applied effectively to ensure that risk is minimised.
• Ensure that all preventative measures are utilised to avoid fraudulent transactions
• Complete relevant compliance training within respective deadlines.
• Minimising risk by adhering to laid down procedures
