About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

We are recruiting for Payments Officers with a set start date of Monday 14 September 2026. This is a full-time role (40 hours a week), working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

We have multiple positions available that can be based at our Wellington office.

As a Payments Officer you will be responsible for accurate, timely and efficient processing of claim and treatment related payment transactions. At the centre of it all, you will demonstrate high-quality customer service and have a collaborative working style.

A large part of this role is working across a high volume of transactions and working through multiple systems that requires a good attention for detail and a natural ability to navigate digital systems and tools.

If you are a bit of a whizz on the keyboard with an eagle eye for detail this could be your next role.

Some of the day-to-day activities in this role include:

  • Determine validity of payments/eligibility for entitlements
  • Working in accordance with ACC legislation, policy and contractual agreements to ensure timely payment and/or resolution.
  • Authorising and processing payments for our providers in a timely manner
  • Resolution of enquires (either over the phone or email)
  • Entering and updating invoices into our system

About you | Mōu

We’re looking for people to join our Service Delivery teams around the regions so we can continue to meet the demands of the growth in claims volumes, support change interventions underway and execute on initiatives in the Rehabilitation Performance Improvement Programme (RPIP).

We’re looking for people who demonstrate:

  • Great customer service
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well with people within ACC, our clients and external providers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and can maintain high accuracy with a high workload.
  • Are confident using technology and quick to learn new systems.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with payments and invoicing is not essential, but it will be an advantage.

The appointing salary for this role will be $60,486 and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution.
