Job Description

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of payments and merchant services? Join JPMorganChase as a Payments Governance Client Ops Analyst and be part of a dynamic team within the Chase Global Card Operations organization. This is your opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of Payments Governance. You’ll grow, learn, and lead in an environment that values creativity and collaboration.

As a Payments Governance Client Ops Analyst on the Third-Party Payment Processing Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and driving results. You will be part of a team that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Your contributions will be vital to our firm and the wider community as we strive to make a positive impact in a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth. This position is responsible for collating, reporting, and reconciling large datasets for Merchant Services third-party processors. You will develop and maintain data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence using Merchant Services internal systems. You must be able to monitor and analyze performance data in real time and cumulatively, and make recommendations to support successful outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Remain current on card network requirements associated with payments products, including sub-merchant due diligence, fraud, and chargebacks.
  • Leverage tools such as Snowflake, Python, Tableau, Alteryx, PeopleSoft, Power Apps, and UiPath to research large volumes of processing data and create Merchant Services third-party processor performance metrics.
  • Perform ongoing transactional data monitoring to identify changes in activity, trends, and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with Payments Governance reviewers/facilitators to understand processes and identify and address pain points in data analytics and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely information is provided throughout the assessment process.
  • Identify, research, report, and/or escalate potential risks proactively identified through data analysis.
  • Communicate professionally—verbally and in writing—with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review, analyze, recommend, and implement best-in-class process improvements related to third-party oversight, reviews, systemic solutions, and evaluations.
  • Maintain system access profiles, data-specific standard operating procedures, and process flows.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and leadership reporting metrics.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Payments Governance database/SharePoint site/repository, including tracking activity, cataloging documentation, maintaining request status, and safeguarding confidential files.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skill:

  • Strong investigative mindset and passion for analytical research; eager to learn new databases and adapt to change.
  • Ability to develop and maintain efficient workflows in Alteryx to reduce manual intervention.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, with the ability to develop high-quality presentations, charts, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing large volumes of data from raw sources.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze performance data in real time and cumulatively, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Sound judgment and flexibility to pivot quickly and solve problems effectively.
  • Commitment to a productive and healthy culture that values integrity, respect, excellence, and innovation.
  • Ability to ensure high-quality downstream user experience, appropriately secure data, and adopt best practices.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 2 years of experience in Merchant Services data analysis (e.g., PeopleSoft, Snowflake, Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, Power Apps).
  • Experience with analytical and statistical packages/databases (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, or equivalent).
  • Strong interest in financial compliance, risk, quality, operations, and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Extremely analytical, with superior communication skills (written and verbal).
  • General knowledge of Chase-approved workflow management systems such as Pega, Navigator, JIRA, and MyMFT.
