The Global Clearing Product team within Payments is responsible for the day-to-day management, development, and delivery of J.P Morgan’s USD, EUR and GBP wires propositions. The Global Clearing business moves over $3 trillion worth of wholesale payments every day. Similar to the retail payment industry familiar to consumers, the wholesale industry is at the peak of a technological evolution with a focus on digitalizing payments, designing client-centric user interfaces, providing real-time analytics, and doing all this cheaper, faster and more secure than ever before.
As Global Clearing Product Director within J.P. Morgan Payments, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product management of our industry leading EUR Clearing proposition. The scope of the role includes product strategy, financial performance management, risk management, product development, as well as industry and regulator engagement. In this role you will collaborate extensively with cross functional teams across Sales, Service, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Legal.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive EUR Clearing revenue and market share to maintain and extend J.P. Morgan’s leadership position through cutting-edge products and a well-defined go-to-market strategy
- Own and be responsible for the development and execution of the product strategy and vision, ensuring the EUR Clearing proposition meets the evolving needs and demands of consumers
- Manage the financials by driving increased revenue through product enhancements, fine-tuned pricing strategy, while increasing operational efficiency; you will work closely with Sales and Finance to understand, track and forecast performance
- Own and be responsible for the overall success of the product through defined objectives, key results/performance indicators, assessments, and product effectiveness
- Act as the voice of the customer through market research and lead ongoing improvements for a cohesive set of products, platforms, solutions, and channels that provide value to customers
- Influence the Global Clearing strategy through advocating for EUR Clearing needs within the global agenda, and ensuring alignment and consistency of product set across regions by collaborating closely with partners across the Global Clearing product team
- Partner with senior stakeholders across regions, legal, compliance, operations, technology and service, to ensure the delivery of product solutions to meet client needs and drive new business development
- Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the EUR Clearing business and implementing plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
- Present thought leadership on industry trends, best practices and client-tailored solutions to our clients, the market and the Global Clearing team, and support industry engagement with key partners
- Partner closely with J.P. Morgan’s Sales and Service teams in order to streamline product promotion and implementation of new business, whilst maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction for existing clients.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Fluent German language speaker
- Strategic thinker, execution oriented, with strong analytical skills
- Significant experience of product management (or equivalent role) experience within the payments industry
- Gravitas to represent J.P. Morgan in industry committees and forums
- Solid track record of success in developing and implementing large-scale initiatives
- Prior experience in strategic planning, P&L management, and business case development
- Experience driving change in complex organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions

- Experience in dealing with Financial Institution type clients
- Recognized thought leader and innovator with demonstrated industry eminence
- Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions
- Superior presentation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
