Job Description

At PointsBet, we have only built a fraction of what we have imagined.

Launched in Australia in 2017, PointsBet is committed to delivering the ultimate betting experience. As a global leader in the industry, our people are united by a shared mission: to push boundaries and elevate the thrill of the game – always with a focus on a safe, responsible experience for all users. Our diverse team brings together the best of tech, sports knowledge and creative vision to deliver an exciting platform for sports and racing enthusiasts worldwide.

About Us:

PointsBet's Payments, Fraud & Identity team keeps our customers safe and our platform trusted - fast reviews, sharp decisions and tooling that keeps getting better. It's a genuine intersection of payments and fintech, identity and KYC, operations, service and regulatory compliance.

About the Role:

In this role, you'll run the frontline reviews that keep everything moving, own a set of areas end-to-end, and have a real say in how they're run. This includes driving the weekly calibration meetings and the reporting that tracks them. You'll work across the business, raise the improvement ideas others miss, and pick up initiatives and projects that leave a measurable mark. And you'll do it with an AI-first mindset, always curious about how the latest tooling can make the work sharper.

This is a hands-on, operational role for someone who likes to get things done, wants exposure across a broad range of domains, and likes owning initiatives that have measurable impact.

  • Melbourne, full-time, on-site role.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work
  • Operating across Australia and Canada

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for the end to end execution of our Fraud x Payments x Identity Framework
  • Run account, milestone and transaction reviews, and manual money-out processing.
  • Handle risk-based onboarding, identity and KYC reviews.
  • Complete fraud reviews and account-based payment reviews
  • Investigate behavioural anomalies, act on them and provide recommendations on high-risk/complex escalations.
  • Own your area by driving the weekly calibration meetings and the team reporting across them.
  • Escalate and help resolve the complex cases.
  • Review, identify and provide recommendations on improvements to our tooling, processes, reporting frameworks, and general ways-of-working.
  • Use data and AI tooling across reviews, reporting and escalations, and help shape the tools the team relies on.
  • Own your BAU areas with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Collaborate closely across Customer Service, Compliance, Product, Data and Trading.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 1–3+ years' experience in a Payments, Fraud, Analyst, or equivalent role is desirable but not essential.
  • You have an operational mindset - you get things done and see them through.
  • Autonomous, curious, and an eye for detail.
  • A strong communicator who works well across teams.
  • Genuinely interested in how AI fits into your work, and keen to build data skills (SQL included)
  • Up for broad exposure across payments, identity, KYC and frau, and for owning initiatives that matter.
  • An interest in or experience within the sports and wagering industry is desirable but not essential.

Don’t meet every requirement on the job description? That’s okay! We encourage you to apply anyway. We are built different at PointsBet, because we think different. We value diverse perspectives and are excited to hear from applicants with unique skill sets. Your individuality and experience could be the perfect addition to our team.
