Job Description

Join a team shaping the future of digital payments while building strong operational and risk-control fundamentals. You’ll support high-importance workflows that help clients move funds, maintain accounts, and complete trade and loan activities accurately and on time.

As an Operations Analyst in Payments Operations, you will perform hands-on processing and administrative support to deliver accurate, timely execution of client and operational requests. You will help maintain strong day-to-day controls, resolve exceptions, support audits and reporting, and identify practical improvements that reduce manual effort and operational risk.

Job responsibilities

  • Support daily operational activities, including preparing and triaging tickets, maintaining trackers, safeguarding documents, and performing data maintenance.
  • Process operational requests across funds transfers, deposit and account maintenance, trade finance, and loan workflows within defined cutoffs and service levels.
  • Authenticate client instructions as required (for example, call-backs and signature verification) and escalate potential issues using established procedures.
  • Manage client correspondence and paper-based submissions where applicable, including maintaining logs and coordinating transfer to designated storage teams.
  • Coordinate responses to audit confirmation requests by collecting required information, meeting deadlines, and managing follow-ups with stakeholders.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze source data to prepare summary outputs for regulatory submissions and client reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve exceptions, rejects, and non-routine items, documenting actions taken and partnering with internal teams to drive closure.
  • Perform low-volume manual tasks outside automation scope, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and control adherence.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 2 years of experience in banking operations (payments operations or related operational functions).
  • Strong control mindset and attention to detail, including ability to follow procedures, maintain evidence and logs, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Experience with operational administration (ticketing/trackers, documentation handling, data maintenance, and reporting support).
  • Ability to investigate exceptions, apply judgment within defined guidelines, and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders and respond to client and audit queries clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work accurately with datasets used for regulatory and client reporting.
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Business-level English proficiency (written, listening, and speaking).
