Gray Construction is looking to add a Pay Application Specialist to its Data Center Team in our Lexington, KY Office.

What we expect...

  • Manage subcontractor billing invoices- confirm completeness, accuracy, and maintain required backup documentation.
  • Manage the entry of subcontractor and Gray specific billing data into customer pay application.
  • Partner with project management teams to ensure accurate, timely capture of all required project data in alignment with approved budgets, schedules of values, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor pay applications for compliance with customer standards, contract terms, and internal procedures.
  • Update documentation and digital records to ensure all documentation is stored according to Gray Construction’s standard.
  • Monitor the status and deadlines of each pay application and follow up with project teams or customers as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  • Update records to provide accurate information for internal reporting and audits.
  • Assist with special projects and training as necessary.
  • Work closely with auditors on behalf of customer.
  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure understanding of processes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Who we want…

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting, mathematics, construction management, finance , or a related degree and/or a minimum of three years of related experience. Construction industry experience is preferred. This person must be physically present for work in the Lexington office with the potential for a hybrid remote work schedule. Minimal travel may be required.

The position requires proficient computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and e-mail applications. CMIC, Textura, or similar construction financial system experience is a plus. This role must be comfortable working with numerical data, documentation, and digital workflow, as well as repetitive or consistent tasks on a daily basis. Other requirements include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to solve problems, communicate effectively, and be able to coordinate efforts with internal Gray personnel as well as external vendors and suppliers.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required. Some travel may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Will supervise multiple project support team members.
