Summary

The Prescott Police Department is a full-time law enforcement agency serving approximately 4,500 residents and thousands of seasonal visitors. The department includes the Chief, Lieutenant, Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, seven Patrol Officers—including an SRO—and an Administrative Assistant.

The 2026 patrol pay scale starts at $30.89/hour, with step increases at six months and years 1, 2, 3, and 5, topping out at $41.19/hour. A 4% wage increase is scheduled for 2027. Benefits include vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays, comp time, excellent insurance, a $500 annual uniform allowance, and a strong training budget. Officers work a 2-2-3 schedule with every other Friday through Sunday off.

Lateral transfer incentives are available for experienced officers.
