Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in an acute care hospital in the Transportation Department or equivalent in a Management position.
Demonstrated skill in project management, including performance of functional and operational analysis.
Knowledge of Federal, State, and University regulations as they pertain to areas of responsibility.
Knowledge of community and national healthcare institutions administrative practices and trends.
Managerial skills to accomplish the many projects related to the management of the diverse areas of responsibilities.
Ability to review and analyze information under time constraints and make prompt and appropriate decisions. Knowledge of business management principles and practices in a teaching/research health center, and skill in applying those principles to the department operation.
Interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment to create effective liaison with areas throughout the hospital, and to interact diplomatically with the public in a high volume public contact setting.
Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency and minimize duplication effort.
Ability to work varied hours upon short notice or report to work in the event of a disaster or staffing problems.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to attend to many details within a short span of time.
Skill in analysis, budget preparation and control. Skill in developing long and short range goals which are compatible with the overall Medical Enterprise objectives.
Skill in independently identifying work flow, patient flow, personnel and procedural problems and implementing viable solutions.
Managerial skill to direct the recruitment, selection, and discipline of subordinate personnel.
Skill in initiating team-building techniques to create a positive work environment and organizational cohesiveness.
Ability to assess division training needs, develop appropriate training programs using a variety of available resources.
Ability to establish and sustain effective relationships with external agencies, professional staff, administrators and employees.
Detailed knowledge of current state and federal resource programs, eligibility requirements and protocols.
Demonstrated knowledge of Staff Personnel policies and procedures.
