Job Description

Under general supervision and according to prescribed procedures, greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims. Prepares paper work necessary for the patient visit. Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed by the Practice Manager to include posting of charges, collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due. Follows process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.

We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with ourOrthoCarolina Monroeteam.

The Patient Services Specialistgreets patients, prepares forms, collects,verifiesand enters patient information into EPIC necessary for thetimelyandaccurateprocessing of patient claims.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares paperwork necessary for thepatientvisit.

  • Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs Cashier duties as directed including posting of charges,

  • Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.

  • Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disabilityformscompletion asrequested

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Working knowledge of insurance

  • Epic/EMR background a plus

  • Medical terminology

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree

  • Prefer minimum of one year experience inmedicalclinic setting.
