We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to join our team across our Adelaide clinics on a full-time, maximum term contract. In this patient-facing role you will play a key role in delivering administrative support to both clients and staff, while maintaining a professional, caring, and approachable manner in a dynamic healthcare environment. As the first point of contact for our patients, your ability to build rapport and create a welcoming experience is essential to making their visit a positive one.

More specifically, you will:

  • Work in an administrative role where customer focus is the top priority.
  • Act as the first point of contact to patients and provide excellent customer service both face to face and over the phone.
  • Adapt to and manage an environment where there is ongoing change and competing priorities.
  • Book and confirm patients for appointments and consultations.
  • Billing and receipting at time of appointment.
  • Accurately process relevant paperwork including data entry.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
  • Continuously liaise with the team to ensure efficient processes.
  • Manage patient records and filing of patient notes.
  • Be required to work across all four Adelaide sites.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • May have previous medical industry experience.
  • Eager to learn new systems and applications for managing patient and Doctor requests.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide ongoing patient care and customer service.
  • Have strong communication skills.
  • Have previous experience working individually or as part of a team.
  • Possess knowledge of patient billing systems and related Medicare mechanisms would be highly valued.
  • Have exceptional phone manner and ability to handle a high volume of patient inquiries.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Are flexible with their approach to work and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
