Location: Allens Lane, Wilmington, NC 28403
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7:45am-5pm with 1 rotating half day

Novant Health Family Medicine Wrightsville Beach provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages in a welcoming outpatient setting. Located in Wilmington, just minutes from the Wrightsville Beach causeway, the clinic offers preventive care, same-day and next-day sick visits, annual and school/sports physicals, immunizations, women’s and men’s health services, chronic condition management, weight-control counseling and sports medicine. The team also provides a variety of in-office procedures and diagnostic testing, allowing patients to receive convenient, well-rounded care close to home.

What You'll Do
- Welcome patients and accurately complete registration, demographic and insurance information in the electronic medical record.
- Verify and update patient information, obtain required signatures and collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Schedule appointments based on patient needs, provider availability and urgency.
- Complete patient check-out, including verifying charges, scheduling follow-up appointments and reconciling daily payments.
- Review and resolve Epic work queues, charge edits, billing errors and claim denials to support accurate and timely reimbursement.
- Partner with coding, revenue cycle and clinical teams to resolve billing, insurance and charge capture issues.
- Serve as a resource to patients and team members regarding registration, insurance and billing questions.
- Answer phones, communicate messages and complete general clerical duties as needed.
- Collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements and support practice goals.
- Deliver an exceptional patient experience through clear communication, empathy and a commitment to keeping patients informed throughout their visit.

What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of clerical experience in medical office setting, required. Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
- Additional Skills (required): Knowledge of medical office software for the following: updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments. Requires excellent verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative. Basic medical terminology required, knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience. High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems. Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements. Familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice.
