About the role

Cabrini Health is seeking several Administration Clerks to join our vibrant Patient Services team – primarily based at Malvern. You will provide vital administrative and customer service support across a variety of hospital departments, including Admissions, in a role that blends office-based tasks with patient-facing interactions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing patient registration information ensuring timely and accurate entry in WebPAS
  • Organising patients' financial files and other forms/labels with medical records in preparation for admission/surgery lists
  • Conduct pre-admission telephone calls to patients within 48 hours of hospital admission to clarify personal details and advise any out-of-pocket expenses
  • Compile information packs for patients, including relevant health fund and other information specific to each patient
  • Prepare information for patients upon discharge and collect any outstanding payments relating to their stay

Our department operates between the hours of 6:00AM - 9:00PM Monday - Sunday, so flexibility to cover a range of shifts is essential. Candidates need to be committed to be available to work a min of 4 days per week (weekdays preferred). The Emergency department requires availability with late night finishes up to 11pm. Short shifts offered to suit university commitments.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working with medical records or familiarity with medical terminology is a bonus, but not essential

  • Certificate IV in Hospital Administration or Business Administration (desirable but not mandatory)

  • A true team player – collaborative, dependable, and equally capable of working independently when required

  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service, with a friendly, patient-focused approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude that builds rapport across teams

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and adapt when needed

  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy, ensuring every task is completed to a high standard

  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills to support administrative efficiency
