Location: Baltimore, MD
Pay Rate: $24 - $27/hr
Schedule: 8am – 4:30pm
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a friendly, organized Patient Service Coordinator for a busy healthcare setting. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients and help provide a smooth, professional experience from check-in through check-out.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Register patients and update demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage and explain co-payments and patient payment responsibilities.
• Collect and accurately process co-payments and other payments.
• Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, referrals, and testing.
• Answer incoming calls, take messages, and route calls appropriately.
• Scan, import, and organize documents within electronic medical records.
• Contact patients regarding missed appointments and track no-shows.
• Complete patient check-out procedures and verify charges.
• Help manage patient flow throughout the office.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other team members.
• Maintain an organized and welcoming reception and front-office area.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least six months to one year of customer service experience required.
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical records, computerized scheduling, or patient registration systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is helpful.
• Strong communication, customer service, and telephone skills.
• Ability to remain professional in a busy, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and support several medical providers.
• CPR/BLS certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
