Schedule: Full Time Days, Mon-Fri, Hours range from 6:30a-5:30p

Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Primary Care Clinic

Location: 3048 W Peterson, Chicago, IL

Responsibilities

The Patient Services Representative routinely schedules and coordinates patient appointments with provider, manages flow of information to physicians, nursing staff, therapists, clerical staff, etc. as necessary to maintain operations, and prioritizes workload to facilitate efficient flow of information messages. The Patient Services Representative also works with coworkers, other departments and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care. Verifies insurance eligibility, and benefits for appointment, procedures or other services including those that require prior authorizations, ensuring communication of patient responsibility to the patient or responsible party. Obtains and verifies accurate patient demographic and insurance information and accurately updates patient account information as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Position requires a high degree of collaboration and customer service with both internal and external customers. 2. A minimum of 6 months previous scheduling/patient intake experience in a healthcare setting required. 3. High school diploma or equivalent required. 4. Ability to read, write and speak English required.5. Strong computer skills required. 6. Knowledge of standard insurance companies and verification requirements.7. Well versed in authorization processes for all payers8. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines9. Courteous and professional communication skills required to interact with internal and external customers. 10. Strong clerical and organizational skills needed to perform record keeping and scheduling duties.11. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.12. BLS (AHA) certification preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.75 to $24.26. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
