Patient Registrar - Radiology – Hudson Valley

You will be responsible to schedule and confirm day-to-day appointments for a variety of Radiology exams using a computerized system, providing response to patients, preparing patients for their procedures, verifying insurance, requesting missing information, maintaining insurance data & adhering to healthcare unit policies. Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments. Check-In at arrival. Receives calls through phone queue and also makes outgoing calls to referring facilities for faxed orders. Familiarity with radiology terminologies. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.

This is a full time Monday through Friday (12pm - 8pm) position at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital located at 1980 Crompond Road, Cortlandt Manor, upper Westchester County, NY.

Preferred Criteria

  • Knowledge of hospital procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology.

Required Criteria

  • Qualified candidates have at least one year of clerical experience supported by a high school diploma or GED.

  • Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first.

  • Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties on demand. Includes willingness to cover all areas as needed.
