Lead the team that keeps patient care moving.

At ChristianaCare, every patient interaction matters. We’re seeking an engaging, service-oriented Patient Escort Supervisor to lead the daily operations of Patient Escort Services while providing oversight for Environmental Services Leads at our Union Hospital campus in Elkton, Maryland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident frontline leader who enjoys solving problems, making decisions independently, and motivating teams to deliver exceptional service. You’ll play a key role in ensuring patients are transported safely and efficiently while supporting a seamless experience for caregivers, visitors, and clinical teams throughout the hospital.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Patient Escort Services, including patient transport dispatch and workflow coordination.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and daily oversight to Patient Escort staff and Environmental Services Leads.

  • Coordinate transport requests and prioritize patient movement to support timely clinical care.

  • Monitor staffing, adjust assignments, and respond proactively to changing operational needs.

  • Coach, train, develop, and recognize team members while fostering accountability and engagement.

  • Partner with nursing, clinical departments, and hospital leadership to ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and service excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures.

  • Step in to support frontline operations when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Two or more years of patient transport, environmental services, hospital operations, or related healthcare experience preferred.

  • Previous experience leading, coordinating, or supervising staff is preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience coordinating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • EPIC experience is a plus

Hourly Pay Range: $22.29 - $33.44This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
